How do multiple agencies work together on a single construction project?
In the Northwest, wet autumns, harsh winters and icy springs often cut the building and construction season short. Many times, our team is working around Mother Nature, trying to get as much done as we can during the good weather we do get in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. That’s why we often work simultaneously with other agencies to get the project done. We know our customers want their work done as soon as possible, be it a residential project, private business or even a state-funded development.
So how do multiple organizations and businesses work on the same site all at once? Our answer is always the same: communication.
For example, take the North Idaho College wellness center. The new 30,000-square-foot center on the college campus is slated to have a rock climbing wall, running track, weight area, locker room, offices and storage. It’s no wonder the faculty and students are eager for its opening in 2017! To complete the project as quickly as possible, the team at Strate Line Crane and Rigging is working alongside other local construction crews to get the work done quickly and efficiently.
We regularly communicate with Ginno Construction, River City Fabrication, Oldcastle Precast and other entities to set the project off without a hitch. High levels of communication and good weather have allowed us to exceed scheduled expectations already.
We’re not only communicating with other crews. Our team is also working with OSHA to ensure our operators and riggers are adhering to stringent safety standards, in the form of lift plans and advanced certifications. We’re gaining exemplary performance status because of our communication with the safety organization.
This is a state of the art recreation center than NIC members are excited to add to the campus, and our team is happy to be a part of the process.
