Working in the blind on a challenging terrain — how Strate Line solved the problem
The crew at Strate Line Inc. is committed to getting whatever job you need done, as quickly as possible — no exceptions.
And by now, we’re pros at working with strange requests and creating unique solutions to what may seem like an impassable problem. Our team has worked on some distinctive jobs in North Idaho, Washington and Montana that may have presented a challenge, such as working on a floating barge or a rocky cliff. However, our team is skilled at communicating to make sure the job gets done quickly and efficiently.
Take, for instance, one of our most recent lift and rigging jobs in Moscow, Idaho.
We worked with the University of Idaho to install new HVAC equipment into one of the college’s most historic and prestigious building. The new heating and cooling equipment needed to be inserted into the penthouse of the original campus structure. However, the problem was that our crane operator was working in the blind — trees and other buildings obstructed his view of the project.
We had completed projects like this before, so our team knew to use two-way radio communication to pass direction back and forth.
It took a little bit of finesse and a lot of communication, but during this two-day job, we were able to install the HVAC equipment with no problem.
So, do you think you have a challenging — or simple! — project that might need rigging and crane expertise? Contact our team with any questions today!
