How multiple cranes can help complete a tricky job
With many of our projects, a little planning can go a long way to ensure a project gets done quickly and efficiently.
The team at Strate Line Crane and Rigging has seen our share of difficult projects. Based out of North Idaho and serving Eastern Washington, Idaho and Western Montana, we’ve dealt with rocky terrain, steep inclines and even floating docks. However, sometimes, the project calls for us to think even bigger — what if your construction project calls for multiple cranes?
Recently, our team built a. The tank was over 150 feet tall, and reaching the top section required one of biggest cranes, with a heavy lifting capacity of up to 175 tons. However, our largest cranes are cumbersome and hard to move quickly around job sites.
Instead, our team built the bottom portion with a smaller crane until it was out of reach, then mobilized the larger machine for the final lift of the top ring and lid.
Using the smaller machine enabled us to get the job done quicker and less expensively, since we weren’t tying up our largest crane.
