Using cranes for construction: At the home and on the highways
Summer and fall are some of the best times for yardwork — spending sunny days in the garden, pulling weeds and mowing lawns. Many times, homeowners use the guaranteed good weather as a chance to complete bigger improvement projects as well, such as building a custom dream house or removing a potentially hazardous tree. These projects are not always easy, and take planning and professional help to pull off.
In the same vein, construction crews take advantage of good weather to complete much-needed maintenance on local roads and highways. You may have noticed, as you drive between Montana, Idaho and Washington on summer trips, that road crews are out in force. Heavy highway and civil work is ramped up this summer.
Strate Line Crane and Rigging has been helping with these projects as well. With a collective 500 tons of lifting capacity, our professional team has worked with regional construction crews to complete work in a safe, timely manner. In the photo below, our team works with Dick Anderson Construction on the Cabinet Gorge Bridge across the Clark Fork River in eastern Montana. We handled 9-foot-tall steel I-beams, which make up the structural skeleton. This process took a lot of teamwork and communication because we were working in a limited space on temporary work platforms, while keeping motorists safe.
